Welcome to Our Center
Welcome! The first five years of life are the building blocks for success in school and life, and we strive to provide an engaging environment for each child. At our center, children learn by doing, exploring, working together, and experimenting. They run and jump in our outdoor play area and indoor gym, develop a love of literacy through our partnership with the Children’s Literacy Initiative (CLI) and our local library, and become little scientists through our STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) centered curriculum. Children are valued as individuals, and our curriculum is tailored to meet their unique needs. Our center is conveniently located between routes 9 and 20. Our Philosophy of Education
We believe in education for all. Teaching means to facilitate the growth of all students, cognitively, socially, emotionally, and physically in a climate that promotes respect for self and others.
We believe in stimulating the minds of children. Problem-solving and critical thinking across the curriculum is crucial to learning.
We believe in the importance of real-life, creative experiences in teaching. The use of hands on, true-to-life experiences actively engage the students for the most valuable learning.
We believe in integrating the curriculum areas: math, science, cooking, reading, language arts, social studies and art. These cannot be taught independently of one another.
We believe in multiple intelligences; we all learn in different ways. Teaching in a variety of modalities helps to develop these intelligences.
We believe in the significance of parent-teacher communication. Parents are a child’s first teacher. Together we ensure that every child reaches his/her potential. Mutual respect promotes a secure loving environment in which children will thrive.
We believe that the teacher is a role model. A teacher sets an example for children, one that will have a great impact on their lives.
We believe in providing opportunities for staff development and growth. We are life long learners, in and out of the classroom.
